HI, I’M DYLAN WAN…
a UIUX / product designer from San Francisco! I'm currently refining my skills as a Design|Media Arts student at UCLA with a minor in Digital Humanities. My studies in Design|Media Arts allows me to explore the experimental and expressive elements of design, while Digital Humanities focuses on research and data-driven design. These two disciplines work in harmony, fueling my passion for creating intuitive, human-centered experiences that solve real problems.

My journey into UI/UX design began at an arts high school, where I studied fine arts. While I appreciated the creative freedom, I discovered my true calling when I joined the yearbook club. There, I found deep satisfaction in creating designs that served a purpose and enhanced people's experiences. This revelation – that design could be both functional and beautiful – naturally led me to pursue UI/UX design when I got to UCLA.
MY DESIGN PHILOSOPHIES
After years of designing, I've found three key philosophies that help guide my work.
Design begins with user reality - successful products emerge from understanding how people actually work, not how we think they should work.
Design for growth - create flexible systems that can evolve with user needs rather than static solutions that only solves today's needs
Systems before details - micro-interactions and visual elements should strengthen the overall product experience, never distract from it.
